March came in like a lamb and went out like a lion! Wait, isn’t that backwards? With my 34th week starting at the end of the month, this pregnancy brought on some new symptoms that were less than pleasant. I started experiencing carpal tunnel at night, with numb and tingling hands, which quickly crept into the days as well, with sore, tight hands. I began to notice swelling in my feet, specifically my left. It’s a clodhopper by the end of the day, everyday now, regardless of what I am doing. So I try to elevate and ice it whenever possible. I was sweating excessively at night early in the week, but that subsided with the spring weather and being able to open the windows at night. And overall, I am just feeling the exhaustion from lack of sleep because I am awake every two to three hours to use the bathroom, and as Brian likes to put it, “I’m growing a human.” Thank goodness he is so understanding and supportive. He is patient with my crazy hormones and is always telling me to take it easy and put my feet up. I’m a lucky girl!
On a lighter more positive note, this past weekend, my family and friends threw me the most beautiful and relaxed baby shower at a local peach orchard. They didn’t have any peaches in bloom (just a few days away), but the weather was in the 60’s and sunny! The shower was in a quaint barn, so we opened the doors and flowed out onto the porch area overlooking the orchard. We didn’t play any games and I asked for unwrapped gifts, so it was like a casual luncheon with plenty of time to catch up with all of my friends and family and my sister even added a fun activity for everyone to participate in at their leisure! I won’t give too much away because I will be sharing all the stunning details in an upcoming post, but I was blown away by every detail!
And finally, Brian and I decided to order a bunch of essentials from our registry that weren’t already purchased for us. Our house is now overflowing with brown Amazon boxes, so it’s a bit overwhelming, but we have a wide open weekend coming up, so we’re planning to clean, organize, and finish the details on the nursery! Stay tuned for the big reveal in the next couple weeks!
