Woohoo, I am rounding out the last week of first trimester and I haven’t felt better! For the past two weeks I have had tons of energy and an appetite x1000. During the first week, I had bloodwork and a physical. The physical went great, but when the doctor tried the doppler, he struggled to find poppyseed’s heartbeat. He said he heard it for a second, but it would be very difficult for me to hear. So he sent me over to the ultrasound tech for reassurance, and there it was, the little fast flicker.
That first weekend was full of festivities! I started off with a stroller strides class. I know, no stroller for me yet, but I am getting certified to be a fit4mom trainer, so I wanted to check it out! The rest of the weekend was filled with parties and football games. I even squeezed in a fit4baby class! To say I was sore and exhausted would be a gross understatement!
During week 2 I returned for my 12 week ultrasound and cranial scan. This time poppyseed made an appearance almost instantly when the doctor turned on the doppler. It was so cool to hear! To top it off, poppyseed was doing somersaults during the ultrasound. So active and healthy and the cranial scan looked good too! The rest of week two was filled with trainings (more info. to come on that in the near future), early voting, parties with family and friends, and the final fit4baby class in a 6 week session. I really enjoyed fit4baby and can’t wait to return for another session come January!
Week 12 cravings: apple cider donuts, sushi, croissants, more ricotta, anything with ground beef
From this point on I will be writing updates during the major milestones throughout pregnancy, including weeks 16, 20, 24, and so on and so forth, unless something major happens, in which case, I will update more frequently.
