Okay, so I mislead you all when I told you I was feeling so much better then end of week 7. Less than 24 hours later, a dull constant headache came on and nothing I did could remedy it. I took Tylenol, slept, drank lots of fluids, and nothing. The headache, accompanied by an uneasy stomach lingered for the first 3 days of week 8 and I thought it would never subside. Thank goodness by day 4 it did! I had a busy weekend ahead of me and I could not be dragged down by nausea and headaches. I’d had enough!
The weekend came and went quickly. We had a night out with friends and family and I had a jam packed Sunday filled including a Gals that Brunch event and a Thanksgiving photo shoot collaboration (that I absolutely cannot wait to share with you)! Fortunately, it was a good day for me. The morning started out rough, so I missed my morning workout class, but I had to prioritize and the photo shoot and brunch were at the top of my list.
In summary, week 8 was filled with 2-3 hour periods of energy and productivity, followed by absolute exhaustion, resulting in a 2 hour nap or early bedtime. For all of my pregnant buddies out there, this is when it is so important to remember to listen to your body! Nothing is right or wrong when you are pregnant. Nothing is normal or abnormal. You are the only person experiencing your pregnancy and you are the only person who knows what you need in that moment. So if it means napping for two hours everyday, missing a workout class, eating a whole tub of ice cream (occasionally hehe), do it! Listen to your body!
8 Week Cravings: Chik-fil-a, bananas and peanut butter, yoohoo
And now for that exciting news I promised…on Monday, we went in for our final ultrasound and poppyseed’s heartbeat was 177, right where it should be. We graduated from Shady Grove! Ahh we’re moving on to the big leagues! We’re elated, but I have to say, it is scary! We’ve become so accustomed to going to SG and built such a warm rapport with all the staff, we’re going to miss it! I can’t believe I am saying this, but we will! I feel like a little kid moving to a new neighborhood about to start my first day at a new school! It’s like we’re starting all over again or something. Buttttt, it is a welcomed change and I keep reminding myself it means we are doing well and our pregnancy is moving in the right direction! Check back soon to hear all about my first OB appointment!
